Meanwhile, 99% of the missions it will ever fly would be better served by something like an A-10 or even the TXT Scorpion, and the remaining 1% the Typhoon could deal with.

The WWII Tempest was a beast. It will be interesting to see of they can pull it off without the (evident) help of France, Germany et al. I’d love to see the Brits return as a viable producer of fighters. But I’ll withhold my judgment until  the Tempest turns a wheel.
